Something for Everyone
We are all on our own unique path of transformation. Mr. Moy’s vision of helping practitioners return to a healthier and more harmonious way of living resonates deeply within me. I love that Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism promotes the principle of all cultures and religions moving together in harmony.
As an Indigenous Catholic woman living with arthritis in Northern AB, Canada it was incredible to feel so warmly welcomed. I was curious to learn about the Taoist Tai Chi® arts and how compassion is the foundation. Sincerely I appreciate the opportunity to cultivate my body, mind and spirit. I feel a deep connection to the mission of alleviating suffering and helping others. I feel blessed to have experienced the physical and mental benefits of moving meditation and developed my understanding further about the richness of Chinese culture, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. I see many similarities between the religions and my traditional Indigenous beliefs which are also passed along through oral tradition.
In the past few years due to the COVID pandemic, I have come to experience the benefits of chanting regularly. Truly it has been a valuable time – the worst of times and the best of times … allowing me to work on myself so I’m better able to help my family and community. I have experienced the power of being together, listening, and learning through the Saturday discussions and chanting for the world. This creates an energy that helps me find peace and better balance in my life. I appreciated receiving the Northern Dipper Scripture English translation as this helped me deepen my understanding of the meaning of the prayer and how others also honor the Big Dipper.
By listening to the Board of Directors and consulting, listening, and working together with my local branch council and regional committees, I feel a sense of family and belonging with people who are loving, kind, trustworthy, sincere, dedicated, and generous. I feel calmer, more relaxed, and let go of worry sooner. I am so grateful that his teachings are available to all.
At this time the world could benefit from Taoist Tai Chi® arts and his teachings. There is truly something for everyone.

Goon Yam Festival – Chanting for the World
Yesterday, one thousand practitioners from many cultures and walks of life chanted virtually to honor and be inspired by Goon Yam (Guanyin), the bodhisattva of compassion. In celebrating the festival, our intention is to cultivate peace and relieve suffering throughout the world.
Lord Lao Festival
Today people of all ages from around the world gathered virtually to celebrate the Festival of Lord Lao (Laozi, Lao-Tzu). In coming together to chant for the world and give thanks for the teachings of Taoism, we all benefited from the opportunity it offers to transform ourselves to become better people.
Seeing Clearly
One day while cleaning my glasses I thought how wonderful that they help me to see peoples faces, trees, branches, and all the physical world around me. In that same moment I recognized that Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism has helped me to see life more clearly. Through the sharing of Master Moy’s teachings I have begun to see my own life more clearly. Listening to his teachings I am offered a mirror to see where I am holding and not letting go. The path is clearer now and I proceed with confidence.

Heart and Stroke Month – Faster and Further
I had a 97% blocked aortic valve. Taoist Tai Chi® arts helped me prepare for the heart surgery so I would have the best outcome. After the surgery I walked further, quicker and was out of the hospital faster than many people much younger than me! Through the physical benefits of Taoist Tai ChiⓇ practice and by being focused and centred in what I do, I am now a healthy and happy person!

World Interfaith Harmony Week
Taoism has a tradition of openness to wisdom from diverse sources and teaches that compassion and selflessness are part of our original nature. Taoist training cultivates the spark of goodness within and fosters the cultivation of ever deeper levels of connection and compassion. This process is fundamental to our health and to the restoration of balance and harmony in the world.
Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism observes and integrates the teachings of the three religions of China: Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Taoist practitioners come from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures and belief systems. All are welcome to participate in any part of the training as they choose.
