The Dragon's Head Blog: Zest for life at 81 – International Seniors Day

My name is Tim Butler. I’m 81 years old and I have been practising Taoist Tai Chi® arts for four years. These few years of practice have proved to be highly beneficial.  My overall health, fitness, co-ordination, balance, energy and zest for life have all taken a great leap forward.

I signed up in Etobicoke, Toronto, in August of 2013 and was visiting a chiropractor for four years at this point with an ongoing back problem. After my first year of Taoist Tai Chi® practice I was able to abandon the chiropractor.

I am in awe of the number and quality of Tai Chi instructors available to us locally.  These, and the accessibility of the International Centre, and the programs offered there are amazing assets not only to residents of the Greater Toronto Area, but to participants all over the world. After just two years of practice under the guidance of many of these teachers I was able to start teaching beginners, a satisfying experience I recommend to everyone.

I can’t begin to say enough about Taoist Tai Chi® arts and anyone looking for a simple and satisfying way to enhance and enjoy their life more should try it.

Fung Loy Kok Taoist Tai Chi® participants are celebrating International Seniors Day on October 1, 2017 – marked on the same day as the United Nations Day of the Older Person.  Participants across Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand will share their knowledge and experience of how Taoist Tai Chi® arts help seniors live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives and how seniors help others.

The broadcast begins at 10am Eastern Standard Time on our YouTube channel
