The Dragon's Head Blog: Coiling Without Dropping is Just Dancing

On February 10 and 11, we explored the importance of coiling and dropping in various foundation exercises and moves of the set. It was the first international workshop in the area of Lausanne, Switzerland and a great adventure we happily shared with 68 participants from 11 different countries.  This is just a small sample of our colourful family.

One of the many highlights was the excellent food with nicely balanced flavors that came out of a very quiet kitchen. Another highlight was the many participants for whom it was their first international workshop. Find below some of their comments.

« I have learned so much in such a short time. The density of the teaching was impressive and enlightening. My tai chi has improved and my understanding of Fung Loy Kok Taoist Tai Chi too. This workshop helped me to better grasp the volunteering spirit of our organization.  It is not about personal interests but a common interest and well being to share among all of us ».

« I was impressed by everyone, how all the smiling participants worked together to make things happen. Although we had loads to do, every moment still felt really easy and light. »

« I feel having reached another layer, something deeper ».

« Playing tai chi for many hours in a short time gave me a completely different feeling. At the end of the weekend, I felt tired and very calm ».

« We heard that change is normal and important. Keeping an open mind and being able to accept changes is what makes us evolve. I will also try to integrate this idea in my daily life ».

« On Saturday evening we heard about the beginning of Fung Loy Kok Taoist Tai Chi, about Master Moy’s vision and about our international centers. This gave me a better understanding of the project in Florida and raised my curiosity. I am now seriously considering visiting Dunedin and joining for the grand opening in November ».

« It was packed with teachings on many different levels but what I enjoyed most was the simplicity and the relaxed and calm atmosphere ».

« For the first time I helped in the kitchen.  Although I was exhausted from time to time I really enjoyed this experience of working together to prepare the food for others. »

« It was not my first workshop. The more I experience international workshops, the more I want to add some. The sustained practice allows one to progress, refine movements and thus to take full measure of the physical and mental benefits of Taoist Tai Chi ».

« Although I stayed home, I felt like I had travelled for the weekend. Thank you to all who came and helped us to make the weekend so wonderful ».
