The Dragon's Head Blog: Collingwood, Ontario Celebrates 20th Anniversary

A late spring afternoon was the perfect day for 96 participants to carpool from the Collingwood branch’s satellite locations to the Meaford auditorium for an extended Monday class. Participants were divided into groups to perform 20 tai chi sets back to back. With two sets being performed at all times, participants were able to join in or rest as needed. Former students came to rekindle old friendships and were drawn into sets, surrounded and supported by new and old friends alike. There seemed to be an energy pulsing within the room as the two sets worked through the 108 moves in almost perfect unison while facing opposite ends of the room. One visitor commented that they “had never been in a room with so many people who were so quiet!” Participants enthusiastically endorsed this Taoist Tai Chi™ arts event with comments like “fabulous”, “fun”, “nice to see former students” and even “I learned a lot”. Smiling and weary, at the end of the day we had completed our 20-set celebration.
