The Dragon's Head Blog: A Year of Celebrations in Ottawa, Canada
Not only is it the 150th anniversary since the confederation of Canada, but it is also the 40th anniversary of the Ottawa branch of Fung Loy Kok Taoist Tai Chi®. In celebration there’s a lot going on in the capital, and we’d love for you to join us.
- Demos are being held at Ottawa City Hall every Wednesday until August 23, from noon until 1 p.m., as part of the city’s summer programming.
- Five days of demos will be held from August 23 through August 27 at various plazas, parks and markets throughout the city.

- We’ll be offering the opportunity for new participants to experience the Taoist Tai Chi® arts beginner program in a weekend at our Carling Centre from Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10.
- It’s our great pleasure to host the Ottawa 40th Anniversary National Program on September 23-24. All participants are welcome to attend!
- As part of the international programming for International Seniors Day the Ottawa Branch will host an open house to celebrate seniors and the benefits of Taoist Tai Chi® practice for people of all ages. Participants, special invited guests and the public will watch the live video that links participants from around the globe as they practice Taoist Tai Chi® arts together, in celebration of the International Day of the Older Person, as designated by the United Nations.
- And to culminate this busy season of demonstrating how the Taoist Tai Chi® arts cultivate mind, body and spirit, we will be holding a demo on Parliament Hill on Thursday, October 5 from noon until 1 p.m.
