The Dragon's Head Blog: Becoming the captain of your soul

It matters not how strait the gate
How charged with punishment the scroll,
I am a master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
                (from Invictus, W. E. Henley)

Hello, my name is Simona and since last year I decided to commit to the practice of Tai Chi because I realized I needed to change my attitude towards life, taking responsibility for it, stop blaming myself, others or circumstances.

In a few words, I felt I had to heal from the narcissistic wound and get in control of my life.

I felt Taoist Tai Chi® practice was the best way to achieve the self discipline I needed  to  master my mind, my actions and most of all my emotions.  In fact, a few years ago, Tai Chi supported me, freed me from discomfort, amused me while I was under cancer treatment – the worst moment  I’ve  ever had – but after I did not go on.

In one year of practicing Tai Chi my mind is clear and I became my own therapist.  I am calmer, healthier, happier, because Taoist Tai Chi® arts awakened my instinct and  my daemon as well; actually I believe Tai Chi is my daemon, the image of the virtue I choose for myself, because I abandoned him a couple of time (I met Taoist Tai Chi® arts the first time seven years ago) but he never left me alone when I was in need.

I would like to express my gratitude towards all the Taoist Tai Chi® arts instructors and practitioners I met so far, particularly the ones I met in the international workshop in Ballina, Ireland, and to those I will meet in the future.

Simona
