The Dragon's Head Blog: Seasonal Ceilidh in Edinburgh
With an Intensive in the morning followed by Potluck lunch our evening meal was prepared by Aberdeen Angus, Highlands and Islands and Edinburgh participants.
Guests were greeted with a very palatable non-alcoholic punch and canapes around the Christmas tree; the tree was set up by the Friday morning class.
A delicious meal with all the seasonal goodies – turkey, roast potatoes, very tasty nut roast, balls of stuffing, tart – but so tasty cranberry relish, carrot batons, parsnip fingers and Brussel sprouts. With big smiles all round, we tucked in.
Then there was the tropical exotic Eton Mess to follow – meringue, whipped fresh cream, pearls of pomegranate and fresh pineapple.
The Ceilidh band of guitar and piano accordion led us in various dances including Strip the Willow where class members mingled with each other on the dance floor. Guests and participants helped with the washing up and clearing away too.
