The Dragon's Head Blog: Everyone Sang – the joy of Taoist Tai Chi® arts
Everyone suddenly burst out singing;
And I was filled with such delight
As prisoned birds must find in freedom …
… and the song was wordless; the singing will never be done.”
– Everyone Sang, by Siegfried Sassoon
Joy was a word used and felt by many of the more than 100 participants at the International Programme held in Tauranga, New Zealand.
The poem above came to the mind of one participant. Jodie said: ”The things we learnt made such a profound change for me: from focusing on being so careful about the form, to focusing on what I’m feeling and discovering carefree times of letting go and release within the set – which makes it feel more balanced, and joyful!”
Everyone worked together harmoniously as we drilled down deeper into our practice and broadened it to some of the other internal arts — Chanting and Lok Hup Ba Fa. We embraced change and worked on the next stage of our internal development.
Now we look forward to year of diligently practising the curriculum laid out for us, and helping to prepare for the 50th Anniversary.
